  Three contract workers were injured in an explosion as they were working on a water tower in Giddings off Highway 290. Starflight transported the three workers to area hospitals, where they are listed in critical condition. According to a spokesperson for the City of Giddings, the workers were welding on top of a ground water tank when explosion occurred.
